| Live Programmes | Medics in Primary Schools

The Medics in Primary Schools programme, in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast, is an initiative where student doctors visit primary school classrooms over an 8-10 week period to teach science and health-related topics through interactive, hands-on activities.
The programme involves medical students delivering structured, age-appropriate sessions related to the body, health, and medical science, which supplements the school’s “World Around Us” curriculum. Activities often include practical demonstrations, using props like X-rays, and engaging in dialogue with the pupils. The teachers have consistently provided positive feedback, valuing the specialist knowledge and engaging approach the students bring to the classroom.
