The Sentinus Young Innovators programme celebrates the creativity, innovation and problem-solving abilities of young people across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and the rest of the UK.

Young Innovators

The Sentinus Young Innovators programme celebrates the creativity, innovation and problem-solving abilities of young people across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and the rest of the UK. Students develop and showcase original STEM research and innovation projects, gaining valuable experience in scientific investigation, communication and presentation while addressing real-world challenges.

The programme culminates in the annual Young Innovators exhibition, where participants present their work to judges, industry representatives and the wider community. Outstanding projects have the opportunity to be crowned Young Scientist, Young Engineer, Young Mathematician and Young Coder of the year. The opportunity to represent Northern Ireland at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the USA is also available, competing alongside some of the world’s brightest young innovators.

We are always looking for industry partners to support the programme through sponsorship, mentoring, judging, project challenges and exhibition opportunities. By partnering with Sentinus Young Innovators, organisations can inspire future talent, showcase their commitment to STEM education and make a lasting impact on the next generation of innovators.

Construction Futures STEMstruct

Sentinus and Construction Futures are in their second year of partnership to deliver a 8-week STEM, construction-focused programme for primary schools. Aimed at P6 & P7 pupils (ages 9–11), the programme commences with an in-school workshop delivered by Sentinus and supported by industry representatives to showcase construction careers and how each role helps bring a project to life.

The class continue to develop their construction project, a town of the future, with added assistance and support provided by an Architect, Engineer, Builder and Sustainability manager via online calls into the classroom. Each school will be invited along to showcase their project at the annual STEMstruct celebration event, displaying their project and engaging in different STEM workshops and shows.

Contact Sentinus

Sentinus have a long-standing partnership with Spirit AeroSystems engaging local primary and post primary school students. We deliver a number of in school STEM workshops with a ‘Flight’ theme to primary schools in the greater Belfast area throughout the academic year. These workshops give Spirit AeroSystems staff the opportunity to engage with local students, support Sentinus in delivery of the activities and provide real world context to the STEM learnings on the day.

We also deliver two yearly STEM masterclasses which invite post primary students to the Spirit AeroSystems wing facility to experience the environment, get a guided tour, hear about apprenticeship opportunities and take part in STEM related activities.
