Numeracy skills are crucial for personal and professional success in the modern world. Research from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has found that by increasing numeracy ability, there are direct improvements against unemployment, low wages and economic growth. There is a pressing need to provide a flexible approach to address the numeracy gap among adults to foster a numerate society capable of adapting to the evolving demands of the twenty-first century.
