Spanning across a number of geographical areas in the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, Sentinus are delivering 7 programmes, reaching out to over 500 adults, these flexible and dynamic training initiatives on numeracy will endeavour to address skills and knowledge gaps within our common bond.
Numeracy skills are crucial for personal and professional success in the modern world. Research from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has found that by increasing numeracy ability, there are direct improvements against unemployment, low wages and economic growth. There is a pressing need to provide a flexible approach to address the numeracy gap among adults to foster a numerate society capable of adapting to the evolving demands of the twenty-first century.
